ISL version

It is with great pleasure to announce that we, Sign Language Interactions, has been awarded the contract as the sole provider for the Regional Health and Social Care Communication Support Service for People who are Deaf, deafblind and Hard of Hearing.

Sign Language Interactions has provided the Remote Sign Language Interpreting service for HSC since April 2020 (under the name of InterpretrNow and now as SignVideo) will take over delivering the joint online and face-to-face provision from April 2023.

Working with local interpreters and organisations, will provide an all-round approach in providing access to the BSL & ISL communities and our deafblind and hard-of-hearing service users.

Sign Language Interactions has over recent years, built up a strong and professional relationship not only with service users, but also creating a positive and responsive working relationship with HSC staff at Trust and local levels.

We look forward to this new joint service delivery approach which has service users at its heart providing equitable access to all of Health and Social Care’s services.

Keep a look out for more information as we approach April.

The Regional Health and Social Care Communication Support Service is contracted out and managed by the Strategic Planning and Performance Group (SPPG) of the Department of Health (Northern Ireland).
